WATCH D.O.G.S.

WATCH D.O.G.S.® (Dads of Great Students) is a nationally recognized program that encourages fathers and father-figures to spend a school day volunteering on campus. Started in 1998, it has grown into one of the country’s most impactful family-engagement initiatives, and the U.S. Department of Education highlights it as an effective way to increase positive male involvement in schools.

When men volunteer—even for just one day—they serve in a variety of helpful roles: greeting students, assisting in the lunchroom, supporting classrooms, helping in hallways or the library, and being a friendly, positive presence throughout the school. This extra support helps create a safer, more focused learning environment.

The program benefits students, schools, and families alike. Kids gain access to positive male role models at a time when many may not have one at home or in the classroom. Schools benefit from another set of eyes and ears, reinforcing safety and connection. And fathers and father-figures get meaningful time in their child’s school while seeing firsthand the difference their presence makes.
